Does anyone here have diagnosed anxiety disorders? Do you know any support groups? Have you recovered/improved and how? I have generalized anxiety, panic, and OCD. I’m doing cognitive therapy, but I know having someone understanding would help a great deal. Thanks for any advice.
By the way, I’m in my late twenties and have had anxiety since I can remember (around age 4 or 5).
I do… I am battling it every day. It is so hard… and I feel like I can’t talk to anyone about it! I have a great doctor, so she helps some. I hear going to a conslr. can help, but i feel uncomfortable with that, just isn’t for me. There are lots of online support groups. I think ivillage can be a great resource. Even things like drinking herbal tea, getting sunshine, getting “pampered” at a spa could help. Yoga and meditation have helped me. Also, email me I’d love to chat!

How did the Depression and the New Deal alter the lives of ordinary workers and farmers in the 1930s? Which of the two groups benefited most from the New Deal?
It gave them “hope.” Of those two groups, it was the ordinary workers who benefited most. The farmlands of the midwest were pretty well destroyed due unintentional abuse of the land (plowing furrows in the wrong direction, growing the same crop too many times in a row and depleting the soil of nutrients, etc.).
As for that “hope” consider the notion that what the New Deal did ultimately was to deprive Americans of the opportunity to pull themselves up by their own boot straps and prove to themselves and the world that they CAN do for themselves. It’s now culminated into a land full of whiners crying about it being too hard.
